The 2008 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva opens to deep, dark concentration and a highly energized, almost nervous personality. Vibrant cherry and cassis berry is backed by a fresh acidity backing and there’s enough oak-shading to render softer layers of spice and leather. The wine shows a good sense of balance and overall intensity that is commendable considering the difficulties and rains at the end of the 2008 growing season. Drink: 2016-2024.
