The 2008 Clos du Roi is as good as the delicious 2009. It has life-affirming delineation on the nose with scents of red currant, raspberry and cranberry, and an underlying mineralite of its own. The palate is supremely well-balanced with the terroir really percolating through the fruit, more so than the more fruit-driven 2009. There is just a hint of bell pepper lending edginess on the finish that is long in the mouth for a 2008. Chapeau Nathalie Tollot! Tasted March 2013.
