The 2004 Two Acres (85% Mourvedre, 12% Petite Sirah, and 3% miscellaneous grapes) is a stunningly rich effort with surprisingly silky tannin as well as notes of roasted meats, blueberries, black raspberries, tree bark, and truffles. Sweet rich fruit, opulence, and full-bodied power are found in this shockingly good wine. It should drink well for 5-7 years or longer. Readers should not hesitate to get on Carlisle’s mailing list before the world discovers what compelling beverages are being produced here.
