The 2016 La Roza follows the style of the 2014—aromatic and perfumed, with the elegance of the sandy soils. It comes from three plots of vines that they reckon are around 170 years of age (!) and which total only 0.24 hectares. It's elegant and subtle, with the elegant tannins from the sandy soils (there's also clay and limestone here, of course), one of the most elegant wines here, and at the same time, it's very complete. 759 bottles were filled in September 2018.

A dense and bold red, with savory cigar box and espresso notes accenting ripe black cherry and black currant fruit, red licorice and mocha flavors. Tightly meshed, firmed by sculpted tannins and brightened by orange peel acidity, with a long, well-spiced finish. A powerhouse, but finds harmony by playing all the components at equal volume.
