Classic, spicy and floral, the 2020 L'Idiot du Village offers aromas of fresh cherry skin, potpourri and hints of turned earth with dusty florals. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is fresh, succulent and food-friendly, offering delicate flavors of crunchy red fruit, baked earth and soft red spices. The wine concludes with a lingering, floral lift that will remain crushable for years. It's a fantastic Mourvèdre. It was made from 90% whole-cluster grapes and rested for 16 months in neutral French oak. I've always been a sucker for this bottling.
