Caggiano’s Salae Domini is made from Taurasi-designated vineyards and is aged in new French oak but given a shorter period of aging than is required to qualify as Taurasi. The 2004 is soft and approachable in its expression of plums, flowers, spices and leather. The appearance of early tertiary notes makes me think it will drink best fairly young. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012.A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300, Vin Divino, Chicago, IL; tel.
