The 2007 Falerno del Massico Rosso is another stunning value. It bursts onto the palate with masses of dark fruit, smoke, incense and tar. A bold, exotic red, the Falerno del Massico impresses for its sheer harmony and a warm, radiant personality. The Falerno del Massico is 80% Aglianico and 20% Piedirosso, a blend that is quite common in these parts. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2027. The 2006 Falerno del Massico Rosso is a marvelous red endowed with tons of personality. This blend of Aglianico and Piedirosso flows from the glass with juicy red berries, dried flowers, minerals, ash, smoke and heady truffles. Deceptively medium in body, the wine offers gorgeous richness and depth in its fruit, along with a round, caressing finish. It is a fabulous wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016.
