The Pouilly-Fuisse La Verchere Vieilles Vignes Reserve exhibits a steely, lemony nose, a very good thick texture and great flavors of powerful and very ripe candied fruits. This medium-to-full-bodied gem is quite long and finishes on notes of buttered toast. Drink now-2003. This note is the result of tastings I did in Burgundy between January 7 and January 29.As readers study my report, I hope they notice the number of wines from highly acclaimed villages and vineyards that don't merit the scores the three delicious wines from this domaine received. After harvesting extremely ripe grapes, Daniel Barraud neither fines nor filters his wines and leaves them on their lees for 15 months.
