The 2003 Barolo Cerretta is the fresher of these two offerings. It is deeply-colored generous Barolo with plenty of up-front appeal in its ripe fruit. Made in a full-bodied, ample style, it offers outstanding length although the hard tannins attenuate the finish on the close. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016. This small, family-run estate in Serralunga continues to demonstrate promise under the direction of proprietor Sergio Germano. These 2003 Barolos are both solid efforts.
