Similar aromatically to the '10 with its pure dark fruits, mineral, iron and underbrush-scented bouquet, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is more upfront and approachable, with a lot of ripe fruit, a forward, supple texture and a nice finish that carries bright acidity. It shines more for its purity and freshness than density or power, and should evolve nicely for at least a decade.

A thoroughly elegant, serious and yet immensely enjoyable wine that stays lively many days after opening, this bottling from a regional icon shows dried violets, dried strawberry, crushed pepper and touches of leather and soy on the wondrous nose. Lithe black plum and elderberry fruits ride along a tight but forgiving tannic structure, with support from crushed gravel, asphalt, potpourri, sandalwood and cedar flavors.

Very pretty, with lots of cedary spice, white pepper, vanilla oak and currant-styled aromas and flavors, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, and elegant with fine tannin on the finish. Already drinking nicely, it's a charming, elegant and mid-weight effort that excels on its finesse and purity. Drink it over the coming 10-15 years.

Offers aromas of red and black licorice, with spice, cedar, currant and berry notes. Enjoyable now despite the firm tannic backbone and crushed rock flavors. Drink now through 2021. 600 cases made. –JL

More concentrated and backwards than the approachable '09, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon sports an inky color to go with lots of licorice, scorched earth, violets, blackcurrants and charred meats. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, and fresh with nicely integrated acidity and fine tannin, it needs 3-4 years of cellaring and will drink well over the following two decades.
