The 2007 AN/2 is 65% Callet, 20% Mantonegro-Fogoneu, and 15% Syrah aged in 35% new French and American oak. Dark ruby-colored, it displays a bouquet of earth, tobacco, mineral, iodine, black cherry, and blueberry. Roasted and baked on first blush, but then the wine’s complexity and use of unusual Mallorcan grape varieties take over. Along the way there’s flavors and aromas of prune, earth, leather, spice and Mediterranean terroir. It’s also bringing tobacco and leaf notes to the table.
