I tasted the white 2021 Quíbia very early after bottling, and as has happened other times, I found it very reductive and sulfury (and the screw cap doesn't help); but experience tells me the wine shows better one or two years later. This was produced with 70% Giró and the rest Callet and Prensal. It's only 12.5% alcohol and has a fresh and light palate with some austerity and a dry finish. Hold it for one more year. 32,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2022.

There was a hailstorm September 13-14, but the grapes for the 2019 Quíbia had already been picked. This sort of blanc de noirs was produced as a white, with a majority of red grapes matured in tank with lees before bottling. It's a fruit-driven and approachable white closed with a screw cap and destined for short-term consumption. It was produced in a clean and expressive way without terrible complexity. This 2019 feels riper, and the palate reveals a softer mouthfeel, tender and light. 60,000 bottles. It was bottled between January and February 2020.

I retasted the bottled white 2018 Quíbia that was sulfury and reductive when I tasted it unbottled last time. 2018 produced fresh and balanced wines, and this blend of 45% Callet (red), 30% Prensal and 25% Giró Ros is livelier and fresher than previous years and also the 2019 I tasted next to it, and it feels riper. This has a developed nose with some honeyed undertones denoting some evolution, as I think this white is destined for short-term consumption. The palate is light with fresh and focused flavors, not terribly complex but pleasant and easy to drink with a bitter twist in the finish that I liked. 60,000 bottles produced. It was bottled between January and February 2019.

The white 2017 Quíbia, which has a slightly different blend, because they lost 50% of the Premsal grapes because it was a very warm and dry year, so the proportion changed and they ended up producing some 30% less bottled wine. It was approximately 50% Callet, 30% Premsal and some 20% Giró. So, half of it is from red grapes, but the wine has no color at all. Callet yields were also lower in 2017. The wine has notes of white fruit and some smoky notes, but it was never in contact with oak. It has a tendency to show reductive aromas and needs air. The palate is tender and fruit driven, with a sweet fruit sensation in the finish. 25,000 bottles produced.

A kind of blanc de noirs, the Quíbia is produced with 60% Callet (a red grape, 30% Premsal Blanc and 10% Giró Ros). It is cold fermented and aged for four months in contact with the lees in 7,000-liter stainless-steel vats. The color does not give you any hint of red grapes taking part in the blend and the nose is also redolent of white fruit, and some leesy, yeasty notes, quite clean and fruit-driven. The palate is quite succulent, with good volume and acidity, with simple, clean fruit flavors ending quite fresh. I was rather impressed. 36,000 bottles.
