The potentially outstanding 1999 Nuits-St.-Georges Aux Thorey, from a new parcel purchased by Chauvenet, is medium to dark ruby-colored and has a sweet cherry, raspberry, and currant-scented nose. This is an expansive, medium-bodied wine with excellent depth of sweet cherry, raspberry, and strawberry fruit. It is pretty, elegant, and has a long, seamless finish. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
