The deep purple-colored 2008 Petite Sirah (100%) was also sourced from the Stone Tree and Lonesome Springs vineyards and was aged in 50% new French and American oak. It emits an aromatic array of damp earth, Asian spices, violets, blueberry, and blackberry. Full-bodied on the palate (15.9% alcohol) but still relatively civilized, this lengthy, rich effort will benefit from 5-7 years of additional cellaring. Those seeking elegance should look elsewhere.
