The 2014 Chardonnay Zio Tony Ranch (50% new French oak) came in at only 496 cases. It is from the Martinelli-owned vineyard on Frei Road in the cool, Green Valley microclimate of the Russian River. This wine shows loads of acidity, a slightly greenish hue, plenty of honeydew melons, lime and lemon oil with a hint of honeysuckle. It is medium to full-bodied, crisp, zesty and somewhat Chablis-like in its character. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
