The 2015 Chablis 1Er Cru Montmains has never quite delivered the same intensity as the Mont de Milieu on the nose and that appears to be the same now the wine is in bottle. It is quite stern and steely, as Chablis ought to be, yet it needs a touch more complexity to come through. The palate is well balanced with a brisk, saline opening. There is good weight on the mid-palate and there is plenty of salinity on the finish. This has improved since its showing in barrel and should give a decade's worth of pleasure.
