The 2013 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains has plenty of fresh green apple on the nose complemented by light floral scents that gain more intensity in the glass. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with good weight in the mouth, just a faint touch of dried honey in the background flanked by hints of lemongrass. It just needs a little more tension towards the linear, saline finish, but it provides a more approachable style of Montmains that should give pleasure over the next eight years.
