Tasted blind at Farr Vintners Kumeu/White Burgundy tasting. The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet from Etienne Sauzet has a very pleasant reduction on the nose: real mineralité here, intense and convincing, the kind of aromatics that take you by the lapels and demand attention. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, fresh and complex with a lovely saline element toward the finish. For a village cru Burgundy this punches above its weight and is well worth seeking out.
