The 2019 Chardonnay Highland opens with some struck match reduction over apple and citrus fruits. The medium-bodied palate has meaty, savory character that somewhat obscures the fruit, and it offers a touch of textural grip on the finish.

The 2015 Chardonnay Highland has an alluring nose of honeyed peaches, lightly buttered toast, spiced apples and ginger with a touch of chopped almonds. Medium-bodied with a toasty/savory palate, it gives a great core of stone fruit and spicy flavors, finishing long and refreshing.

Another top tier value is the 2014 Chardonnay Highland, which comes all from the Santa Lucia Highlands and was mostly barrel-fermented and aged in 25% new oak. It has notable richness and toastiness, with lots of caramelized apple, crushed rock and spice aromatics. Medium-bodied, pure, balanced and with bright acidity, it's a high quality Chardonnay to enjoy over the coming 2-3 years.

An excellent value, the 2013 Chardonnay Highland was two-thirds barrel fermented and had most of the blend go through malolactic fermentation. Brioche, spice and classic stone fruits all emerge from this medium-bodied, clean, crisp and classy Chardonnay that’s ideal for drinking over the coming 3-4 years.

An impressive Chardonnay that represents a solid value, the 2011 Chardonnay Highland has an understated elegance and richness that emerges with time in the glass. Offering classic golden fruits, vanilla custard and brioche aromas and flavors, with medium-bodied depth and juicy acidity, it’s an outstanding white and worth seeking out. Drink now-2015.
