Plush, velvety and easy to drink, the 2017 Cote Rotie Village features mixed berry fruit and a gentle dusting of dried-spice complexity. It's medium to full-bodied, with ample concentration and depth while remaining juicy and fresh on the finish. It should drink well for a decade or more.

The medium-bodied 2016 Cote Rotie Village is a silky, easy-drinking wine that should be consumed over the next decade or so. It offers hints of cedar and vanilla framing mixed red berries and notes of tea leaves and black olives. It would make a solid introduction to the Ogier style, or even C?te R?tie in general.

Ogier's entry-level C?te R?tie is concentrated, ripe and rich this vintage. The 2015 Cote Rotie Village boasts aromas of cedar and espresso, followed by a full-bodied, raspberry and black olive wine that's almost chocolaty at times, yet it retains a sense of freshness on the finish.

Stephane produced a lot of the 2014 C?te R?tie Village (2,000 cases) as he only made two cuvées, the Village and the Reserve, with a lot of grapes being declassified into the base cuvée. The adage of drink the producer and not the vintage holds true here and this entry-level wine offers incredible charm and elegance, as well as classic notes of cured meats, olives, dried spices and darker fruits. It should keep for 7-8 years, but there’s no need to delay gratification.
