Medium ruby-purple, the 2018 Syrah Larner Vineyard features alluring blackcurrants and crushed black cherries with notes of aniseed, earth, cracked pepper and charcuterie. Medium-bodied, approachable and refreshing, its dark fruits and savory spices define the long finish.

The 2016 Syrah Larner Vineyard contains 1% Viognier. It has an opaque ruby-purple color and is very tightly coiled on the nose, slowly opening to graphite, olive, chocolate, blueberry and boysenberry preserves, with warm black plum and black cherry—tons of latent layers here. Full-bodied, it's densely flavored with very firm, very chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long with a touch of oak poking out. Give this more time in bottle.

The inky purple/blue colored 2013 Syrah Larner Vineyard is a full-bodied, rich, gorgeously textured beauty that has tons of currants, blackberry, smoked herbs and pepper aromas and flavors. Seeing 25% whole clusters and 20% new French oak, drink this pedal to the metal, pure, yet still elegant Syrah over the coming 7-8 years.

Incorporating 1% Viognier and aged in 30% new French oak, the 2012 Syrah Larner Vineyard is a beauty! Showing the rounded, supple and approachable style on the 2012 vintage, it has terrific purity and freshness in its sweet cassis and dark fruits, meatiness, graphite and curing spice-like bouquet. Charming, forward, balanced and elegant, it still has sweet tannin on the finish and this superb Santa Barbara County Syrah will drink nicely over the coming decade. The elevage here is 25% whole clusters and 22 months in 30% new French oak.
