Showing the rounded, supple and approachable style on the 2012 vintage, it has terrific purity and freshness in its sweet cassis and dark fruits, meatiness, graphite and curing spice-like bouquet. Charming, forward, balanced and elegant, it still has sweet tannin on the finish and this superb Santa Barbara County Syrah will drink nicely over the coming decade. The elevage here is 25% whole clusters and 22 months in 30% new French oak.
