Opening to cherry, tart plum and dried rose, the Giovanni Almondo 2018 Roero Bric Valdiana promotes a fine and elegant interpretation of Nebbiolo. With layers of savory spice and dried fruit, the wine is long and silky to the palate. This is a perfect bottle for a classic home-cooked chicken roast.

The 2012 Roero Bric Valdiana is a light color of Nebbiolo with pretty ruby intensity. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats and later aged in botte grande for a more elegant and subtle oak imprint. This wine shows nice balance and an accessible approach.

A more feminine side of Roero Nebbiolo takes shape in the 2009 Roero Bric Valdiana. An expressive core of sweet red berries, roses and spices flesh out in this gracious, mid-weight wine. Firm yet silky tannins frame the long, perfumed finish. The 2009 is simply lovely from start to finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.
