Vibrant berry fruit marks the nose of the 2019 Cotes du Rhone les Quatres Terres, a mix of Grenache and Syrah blended from four villages. It's medium to full-bodied, shows ample concentration and does a fine job balancing ripeness and acidity, finishing with silky but notable tannins. Give it another year, then drink it over the next five.

Tasted from foudre, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone les Quatres Terres blends fruit from Rasteau, Roaix, Séguret and Vacqueras. Mostly Grenache, it boasts floral hints and almost jammy raspberry fruit. Medium-bodied, it's silky and gentle in the mouth, with an appealing softness for near-term drinking.

A blend of fruit from four villages (Rasteau, Roaix, Séguret and Vacqueyras), the 2015 Cotes du Rhone les Quatres Terres is a medium-bodied wine that features bright cherry-like fruit and a firm, crisp finish. Decant if drinking it soon to allow some post-bottling funk to dissipate.

The 2012 Cotes du Rhone les Quatres Terres is a delicious, rounded, fruit-filled 2012 that has lots of sweet cherries, earth, ground pepper, leather and garrigue to go with medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. I reviewed this a little over a year ago, and it's come together nicely since then, with the tannin, which is still noticeable and slightly dry, integrated and balanced by good fruit. Enjoy this solid effort over the coming couple of years.

More generous and fleshy, the 2011 Cotes du Rhone Les Quatres Terres offers loads of sweet cherry fruit, licorice and earth, as well as a medium-bodied, supple and fruit-loaded profile on the palate. Drink it over the coming couple of years. This was a solid tasting with proprietor Yves Gras. One of the benchmark estates in Gigondas, the estate also releases a number of high-quality negociant wines from Sablet, Vin de Pays and Cotes du Rhone. While 2011 and 2012 are strong vintages here, the wines are more streamlines and focused than in the past, and in the case of the 2012s, should benefit from short-term cellaring, as I found most to be closed and tight.
