Morey's small cuvée of 2019 Meursault Les Durots is showing very nicely, mingling aromas of smoky berries and plums with hints of dark chocolate and forest floor. Medium-bodied, lively and precise, it's fine-boned and elegant. It's well worth seeking out.

The 2015 Meursault Les Durots consists of two used pièces this year and it was showing quite a lot of reduction when I tasted it from barrel, so the nose was difficult to read. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, not as rustic as other red Meursaults that I have tasted, with sappy red fruit on the cohesive finish. Not a complex red, but certainly well crafted and probably best suited for earlier drinking than others from the domaine.

From 0.3-hectares of vine that bestowed just two barrels, the 2013 Meursault les Durots has a light raspberry and cranberry leaf nose that does not quite possess the vigor of the Monthelie, at least at the moment. The palate is well balanced with crisp tannins. It feels quite masculine in structure (probably due to the small berries) and it concludes in foursquare but still attractive fashion. This may transpire to be one of Morey's more austere Meursault wines.

Revealing intense black cherry aromas, the 2003 Meursault Les Durots (red) is medium-bodied, dense, thick, and concentrated.
