Initially, the red fruits dominate, exploding in the mouth. Then the tannins take over, giving a wine that is hugely structured and powerful. The Pommard Les Rugiens appears to have good depth and interest, with a smoky, oaky nose, and great richness and dimension to its flavors. It will be at its best between 1991 and 1998.
