The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Terres Blanches has a crisp but somehow, slightly static bouquet. It just needs to show more “flow.” The palate is better than the nose with grapefruit, lime and a touch of mango coming through. There is certainly decent weight here, tropical tones towards the finish with a dash of spice on the aftertaste.

Here the nose is equally cool and pure with its appealing array of lemon peel, acacia blossom and once again discreet wood nuances. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the vibrant and intensely mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess a refreshing and persistent finale. This isn't especially refined but it is certainly pretty. Worth checking out.

The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Terres Blanches has a rather reticent bouquet with light dried pineapple and bruised apple scents, touches of candle wax emerging with time. The palate is crisp on the entry with touches of orange peel emerging but it never really builds upon its initial promise and seems too introverted on the finish.

Here too there is a discreet application of wood discernible on the mildly exotic aromas that include notes of pineapple, red grapefruit and apple nuances. There is both fine volume and intensity to the appealingly delineated middle weight flavors that possess a refreshing character, particularly on the long, clean and dry finish. This isn't super complex but I very much like the delivery.
