This is also sufficiently reduced to render an evaluation of the nose difficult. The middle weight and energetic medium-bodied flavors exude a subtle minerality before terminating in a moderately austere and rustic finale. This ageworthy effort is very Nuits in character with fine balance.

A trace of wood is also present on the very fresh and agreeably ripe aromas of red cherry, violet, lilac and raspberry. I very much like the intensity and detail of the medium-bodied flavors that display only a whisper of austerity on the balanced and lingering finish. This is very Nuits in style yet not overly rustic.

Here there is enough wood to notice as it tussles somewhat with the otherwise very pretty earthy black pinot fruit aromas. There is good volume and excellent ripeness to the supporting structural elements and while the wood resurfaces on the persistent finish, it's not enough to seriously detract from the impressive overall quality and appeal of this wine. This is also recommended.
