While the 2019 Condrieu is a bit quiet on the nose, it explodes on the palate into waves of apricot, melon and pineapple fruit. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, yet complex, spicy, mouthwatering, long and refreshing on the finish, it's as good a "basic" Condrieu as you're likely to find. Drink it over the next several years.

The 2018 Condrieu isn't as flamboyant as the exuberant 2019, instead offering a more restrained, linear take on the appellation. While it delivers melon and apricot notes, it's only medium to full-bodied, with a rather phenolic finish.

Fresher and more floral than the bottled 2016, the medium to full-bodied 2017 Condrieu offers apricots, lychees and peppery spices on the nose and palate. It's silky in texture, with a lush, ripe feel on the finish.

Two-thirds of the 2016 Condrieu aged in barrels, the other third stayed in stainless steel. It's not overly floral, instead offering melon, pineapple and apricot aromas and flavors. It's medium to full-bodied, lush and mouthfilling, with hints of anise and white pepper on the finish.

A wine that should be on everyone’s must-buy list is the 2015 Condrieu from André Perret, which comes from a mix of Perret’s holdings in the heart of the appellation. Citrus blossom, powdered rock, white cherries and rose petal notes all emerge from this killer, fresh, lively, gorgeously pure Condrieu that has everything you could ask from this grape. Medium to full-bodied, fresh and focused, buy a case or more, drink bottles over the coming 2-3 years, and count yourself lucky!
