The 2015 Fixin Blanc Champs des Charmes, which had already been bottled in September, comes from a vineyard planted in 2009 and first harvested in 2014 because they had had a problem with the rootstock, so they had to replant the vineyard bit by bit. This is why there are only two barrels, when at full production there will be around ten. It is fermented in barrel where it took a year to ferment - one barrel refused to do the malolactic and the other did the malolactic, but refused to finish converting the sugar. It has a light bouquet with touches of peach skin and pear aromas. The palate is clean and fresh, the acidity well judged with hints of pear, nectarine and orange pith towards the bright finish. Enjoy over the next 2-3 years.
