The 2017 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast was aged on the lees in 32% new oak with weekly batonnage. It opens with pure aromatics of apple and pear fruit, accents of lemon pith and grapefruit, plus notes of white peach, dried chamomile, toast and wet stone. It’s light to medium-bodied, intense and refreshing in the mouth, with a pure fruit profile and straightforward finish. I appreciate the purity and freshness of this well-made wine.
