The 2013 vintage is arguably better than 2012, but the 2012 Barbaresco offers a fascinating challenge to that assertion. This is a fine and elegant Nebbiolo expression with pretty layers of dried flower, red fruit, spice, cola, tar and licorice. The wine presents fine nuances and a lasting mouthfeel that is driven forward by balanced acidity and silky tannins.

Lean and elegant, with savory notes of leather, sandalwood and tobacco accenting cherry fruit flavors, this finishes balanced and moderately long, and will be enhanced by food.
