Because of hail damage, the 2013 Savigny-les-Beaune Villages contains what survived from Tollot-Beaut’s premier cru vineyards this year. It has a refined, quite floral bouquet with raspberry and boysenberry scents that are neatly interlaced with the new oak (25%). The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a sweet core of candied orange-tinged black fruit with a sorbet-like freshness on the finish. There is something perhaps a little conservative about this Savigny however, it is nicely proportioned and focused.
