The 2016 Puligny-Montrachet Village felt quite austere on the nose following on from the Meursault and Chassagne-Montachet. This feels aloof and distant, then again, that can be attractive in the right setting. The palate is crisp on the entry with light peach and rosewater notes. There is more going on on the finish here, and there is a pleasant spicy tang on the aftertaste. Give it a year in bottle for the aromatics to develop.
