The 2014 Volnay Clos de la Cave had not been racked and contains 30% whole bunch fruit. The nose was "sleeping" when I tasted it and clearly was awaiting its racking. However, there seems to be sufficient fruit locked in. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy, quite firm tannin and black fruit with touches of spice, quite elegant towards the finish that lingers nicely in the mouth—leaving a slight tingle on the tongue (perhaps due to the whole bunch!). Very fine and feminine.
