The 1999 Mormoreto is primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, with small portions of Cabernet Franc and Merlot included. The fruit emerges from the estate's vineyards at Castello di Nipozzano. Although an elegant, less weighty effort than the Giramonte, it is more Tuscan in its aromas and flavors. A deep ruby color is followed by abundant spicy oak, sweet dried cherry fruit, leather, and earth notes. Medium to full-bodied, with tangy acidity as well as biting tannin, it should drink well for 10-12 years.
