Fonterutoli is a reliable source of high class Tuscan wine. This producer's best effort among the current releases is the 1990 Concerto, an 80% Sangiovese/20% Cabernet Sauvignon blend. The wine possesses an impressive, saturated, nearly opaque ruby/purple color, a bold, spicy nose of vanillin, blackcurrants, cherries, licorice, and smoke, great depth, a rich, full-bodied palate, moderate tannin, good acidity, and a powerfully rich, long finish.
