Congratulations to the Lungarotti family for producing a standout expression of one of Italy's most notoriously difficult grapes. The 2010 Montefalco Sagrantino is a terrific wine that is lush, rich and beautifully intense. The bouquet reveals thick layers of dark fruit, spice, tobacco and leather. The variety's trademark tannins definitely give structure and power at the back, but those tannins have also been masterfully managed thanks to 24 months of barrique.
