The 1998 Chardonnay Robert Young Vineyard spent 14 months in barrel. It is a steely, unevolved, tightly knit, medium to full-bodied Chardonnay relying heavily on apple blossom, citrus, and mineral notes for its character. Although dense, powerful, and rich, it is not flashy or flamboyant. Look for this wine to hit its stride in another year, and last for 4-5.
