A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot, the 1975 Chappellet Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is medium to deep brick in color with a profound nose of chargrill, Black Forest cake and star anise with nuances of tapenade, plum sauce, blackberry preserves and pata negra ham. Medium to full-bodied and relatively youthful in the mouth, sporting a firm structure of grainy tannins and packed with muscular, expressive fruit, it finishes epically long with tons of mineral, savory and black fruit preserves layers. This is very youthful still.
