A dark plum/garnet color is followed by a wine with copious quantities of earth, new oak, and dusty, tannic-tinged fruit aromas. This is a rustic, medium to full-bodied wine with high tannin as well as impressive extract. While it is not elegant, supple, or flattering, it is robust, large-framed, and spicy. Give it 1-2 more years of cellaring, and drink it over the next decade.
