The scholarly looking August Clape, one of the passionate guardians of the tradition of high class, ageworthy Cornas, has a problem. Everyone wants his wine. The 1990 Cotes du Rhone is slightly more complex, with an earthy, smoky, herbal, black fruit-scented nose, medium body, ripe, round, generous flavors, soft tannins, and an easy going finish.
