The 2002 Pommard 1er Cru Les Fremiers is brilliant, bursting with aromas of sweet berries and plums mingled with notions of smoked duck, dark chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and complete, it's deep and concentrated, with lively acids, refined tannins and a long, expansive finish. This, too, is drinking superbly today. Bouley notes that in 2002 he increased the height of his canopies to 1.35 meters.
