Groffier's better wines were unquestionably successful in 1993. His Chambolle-Musigny Les Hauts Doix offers sweet fruit, a soft underbelly, a velvety texture, fine concentration, light tannin, and a fragrant set of aromatics. The wine will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and will last for a decade. For the first time since I have been tasting Groffier's wines, he decided to bottle them without fining or filtration.
