Much more voluptuous and sexy than the more backward 2010, the 2009 Cornas Vieilles Vignes knocks it out of the park with its toasted spice, black raspberry, licorice and graphite-laced bouquet. Thick, full-bodied, and concentrated, with a wealth of raw material, as well as a lashing of tannin, give this blockbuster 2009 a handful of years in the cellar and enjoy through 2034.

Notes of spring flowers, pen ink, graphite, blackberries and cassis soar from the glass of the inky black-hued 2009 Cornas Vieilles Vignes. This magnificent wine offers thrilling levels of concentration, massive extract and an off-the-charts finish. A killer Cornas, it can be drunk between 2020-2035. Voge has turned in extraordinary Cornas offerings in both 2009 and 2010. He is also one of the finest producers of dry St.-Peray, which compete with the top wines of that appellation now being produced by Stephane Robert. Voge’s 2010 Cornas may only be eclipsed by his 2009s. These wines are now being made by Albert Mazoyers, who worked for many years with Michel Chapoutier and is one of the most respected young wine producers in the northern Rhone.
