The 2010 Freisa La Bernardina is a serious wine with excellent up-front boldness in its dark red fruit. Though young and naturally quite vinous, the Bernardina has more than enough body to stand up to a wide range of foods. It is a great introduction to this quirky Piedmontese grape.
