The personal project of importer/broker Jorge Ordonez, the 2000 Termes represents a budget-priced introduction to the Toro appellation. Made from 100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo), it exhibits rich, concentrated, jammy black currant and blackberry fruit intermixed with notions of licorice, smoke, and earth. A big fruit bomb without a great deal of complexity, it will provide undeniably seductive, luscious drinking if consumed over the next 2-4 years. It was aged 20 months in French oak, a fact I would not have suspected.
