The 2003 Pinot Noir La Bauge Au Dessus’s medium ruby color is already revealing considerable pink at the rim. It offers an innocuous, straightforward bouquet of dried herbs, washed out sweet and sour cherries, and old wood. Peppery spice flavors (reminiscent of a Rhone Valley wine) emerge in the mouth. Edgy acidity gives the wine definition as well as a nervous leanness. While this Pinot will hold up well in the bottle, there is not much to it. Tel. (805) 937-9801
