Concentrated and unctuously textured is the 1999 Shiraz Piggott Range Vineyard. A touch of subtle mint emerges along with blackberry liqueur notes intermixed with pepper, melted asphalt, and pain grille. Viscous, super-concentrated, and moderately tannic, this is a massive Shiraz, particularly in view of the vintage. It came in at 14.5% alcohol, and should be cellared for 1-2 years. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2016. Imported by The Australian Premium Wine Collection, John Larchet, USA Wine West, LLC, San Rafael, CA; phone: (800)-485-5753 and Chicago Brands, Chicago, IL; tel.
