The 2014 Marsannay Cuvée St Urbain includes 20% to 25% whole bunch fruit and it is aged for 12 months in large barrels before being transferred into concrete tank. It has a fresh redcurrant and crushed strawberry bouquet, nothing spectacular, but detailed and pretty. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, notes of dark plum and raspberry, though I feel it just lacks a little substance towards the finish, perhaps just a touch of austerity.
